Ancient inhabitants of this land believed that it included an overlaid Otherworld inhabited by all kinds of spirits and non-human entities. There were also certain sites where the veil between this and that world was thinner. This field guide conjectures, if this Otherworld still remains, that the veil between it and our tangible world is particularly thin beneath the Gravelly Hill Interchange. 

The site at Gravelly Hill is not simply an interchange of the serpentine roads above, informally known as Spaghetti Junction, but layers of physical and spiritual Interchange over hundreds, if not thousands, of years.
