All Interchange.

It is not a particularly novel comparison to call the dark, wombing spaces, which suspend beneath Spaghetti Junction, “cavernous”. These echoing underbellies envelop those who enter, within an otherworldliness, a removal from life both around and above. The hum of the motorway, rumbling through the concrete, is as soothing as it is looming. Yet, there is also the sensation of treading on hallowed ground, and the space wavers between the ritualistic reverence of a stone circle and the vaulted solemnity of a cathedral. There is something transcendent about walking here.
